The pink ribbon displayed on my site is significant for one reason. Breast Cancer awareness affects
my family directly, as well as the families of a few of my friends. My mother has twice survived breast cancer.
She has worked with with the American Cancer Society and Young Survivors Coalition volunteering her time and
energy to assist those who are diagnosed with and/or recovering from cancer. I have a friend Laura,
whose mother lost the battle with breast cancer. These two situations give me the strongest convictions
to be forward with my website and leave the pink ribbon displayed not just during the month of October for Breast
Cancer Awareness month but to keep a constant reminder of the resolve we have to fight breast cancer.
Two poems have been written regarding breast cancer:
Battles Won for my mother,
and Trek of Hope for Laura and her mother.
